FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Q: War. How does that generally work ?
A: cf. conflict & settlement
Every attacking unit, from the archer to the dreadnaught, has a particular attack value. When you attack somebody, the attacking value of your sent unities is added together and multiplied with a random value out of a particular sector. Your opponent has a defense value on his isle which is calculated by multiplying main building, stone wall and his units by a random value. If your attacking value is higher than the defense value of your opponent, you will win and destroy his units, but you will also have losses. If the defense value is higher you lose all your attacking units. Naturally, your adversary also has losses.
Briefly: Everyone has a defense value on his isle and an attacking value when attacking. These values are balanced to each other.

Q: What do I have to do to attack somebody?
A: First you have to own a port and barracks. As soon as you have military land and sea units you can load a particular number of ships with units in the port menu. You enter the target isle coordinates and send your ships there.

Q: How long does it take the ship to reach its destination?
A: This depends on the type of ship and the distance. Spy ships are the fastest ships and colony vessels are the slowest. If you send different types of ships in one fleet, the speed will depend on the slowest one.

Q: Can I capture the raw materials of the teammates just like the pirates?
A: No.

Q: Is there an absolutely perfect unit?
A: No. The best land units are the swordsmen and the best sea units are dreadnaughts. When you attack with a greater number of soldiers than your opponent you have even a chance to beat swordsmen only with basic soldiers. This way, nearly every opponent can be beaten.

Q: Can I improve my unities?
A: In the research menu, you can research the weapons of some units and thus strengthen them.

Q: I want to conquer an isle. How does that work?
A: You necessarily need a level 20 port and a level 15 main building to be able to construct colony vessels. Furthermore, your storage building has to be large enough to be able to store the quantities of gold and wood which you need for the construction of a settle ship. To conquer an isle you first have to raze the main building and stone wall (aduring your land attack, the units automatically choose the main building and stone wall as targets, after all enemy soldiers were killed). Then, you can conquer the isle with a colony vessel.

Q: Am I allowed to send one settle ship alone to an isle?
A: Yes, but it will not do any good. Every isle has a particular defence value even when everything is destroyed, as on every isle live savages who may not want you to be there. Moreover, the colony vessel can shatter at the coast of the target island if it is not accompanied by an armed escort.

Q: What is left when I have conquered an isle?
A: An attack can cause collateral damage. Buildings and inhabitants/workers can suffer damage or even get killed.

Q: Where are the points?
A: As soon as something was destroyed or lost levels on your isle or you lose the according points.

Q: How do I notice that I get attacked?
A: In the Home menu ("Home" button on the left side in the island menu) you can see when a fleet is on itīs way to you and how long it will take until it reaches you)

Q: How can anyone help me when I am attacked?
A: Merchantmen can carry up to 500 foot soldiers per ship to strengthen the defence, so your alliance mates can send you tons of foot soldiers to blast the enemy attack.

Q: How do spy ships help?
A: see spy ships

Q: I have been conquered. What does now happen?
A: If you lost your last island, you will get a new isle in the last available ocean when you log in again. Then you have to start from the scratch, again. The advantage of your new position is that naturally, in that location are not so many powerful people who could conquer you immediately again. If you lost your last island for the 3rd time, you will be out of the game.

Q: What can I trade with?
A: You can send all your raw materials and foot soldiers to other isles. A merchantman can take 500 units of raw materials or 500 foot soldiers.
